2. Scope
This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, join early access, contact us or use LoveHuddle. Extra information may be shown when particular features are introduced.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us: name, contact details, account and profile information, photos, preferences, communications with us, reports and support requests.
Verification information: identity, age, photo and liveness information needed to complete verification (see section 4).
Calls: when you join a voice or video call, your audio and video are shared with other participants in real time.
Messages: if you connect with another member, we process the messages you send and receive.
Matching and room activity: the themed rooms you join and how you take part, used to suggest people to you.
Safety monitoring: reports, blocks and safety-room activity, plus behaviour signals reviewed by our automated safety layer, AI-Huddle-Core, which does not store your name, contact or address details (see section 13).
Technical information: device, browser, IP address and security or diagnostic information.
4. Verification information
We use Didit, a third-party provider, for identity, photo and liveness verification. This may involve identity documents, a photo or video of you and a liveness check. We use the result to confirm you are a real adult and to help keep members safe.
Where verification involves analysing your face, we ask for your explicit consent before it starts, and you can withdraw consent as described in section 12.
5. Special category and sensitive information
Some information on a dating service reveals sensitive matters, such as sexual orientation, and verification may involve biometric data. We process this only where UK law allows, and where needed we ask for your explicit consent first.
6. How we use personal information
We use personal information to provide and run the website and service; create and manage accounts; run voice, video and messaging features; verify members; suggest connections; keep members safe; investigate reports, fraud and misuse; provide support; maintain security; meet legal obligations; communicate service information; and improve the service where lawful.
7. Lawful bases
Contract: running your account and the features you ask to use.
Legitimate interests: safety monitoring, fraud and misuse prevention, security and improving the service.
Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
Consent: biometric verification, optional marketing and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing already done.
8. How we share information
We share personal information with providers that help us run LoveHuddle, such as hosting, security, verification (Didit), communications, analytics and professional services. We may also disclose information where the law requires, to establish or defend legal rights, or to address serious safety, fraud or security matters.
Other members see only what you choose to show on your profile and what you share in rooms, calls and messages.
9. International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK law requires safeguards for a transfer, we use an approved transfer mechanism.
10. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including legal, safety, fraud-prevention and dispute needs. Different types of information are kept for different periods.
11. Security
We use organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please also protect your passwords and devices.
12. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to rights relating to automated decisions. Some rights are subject to legal conditions.
To make a request, contact privacy@lovehuddle.com. We may need to verify your identity first. You can also use the Privacy/Data Request page.
13. Automated tools and AI
AI-Huddle-Core is a safety layer. We use it to monitor behaviour on LoveHuddle, such as conduct in rooms and calls, reports and blocks, to detect misuse, protect members and enforce our Community Guidelines. It does not identify you by name or store your contact or address details.
Matching is mainly driven by you, through the themed rooms you choose to join. AI-Huddle-Core may highlight a shared interest between you and another member as a prompt, but it does not decide who you match, connect or communicate with — that choice is always yours.
You can ask for a person to review any safety decision made by automated tools by contacting safety@lovehuddle.com.
14. Children
LoveHuddle is an 18+ service. People under 18 may not hold an account, and accounts identified as belonging to an under-18 will be removed.
15. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we use your personal information, contact privacy@lovehuddle.com and we will investigate. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as LoveHuddle, our providers or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
